What Goes Best With Squeezable Bacon?

squeez-baconHas technology delivered us bacon as a condiment?

Vilhelm Lillefläsk’s Squeez Bacon is fully cooked 100% bacon. Due to the patented electro-mechanical process by which Squeez Bacon is rendered, it requires no preservatives or other additives. Each serving is as healthy as real bacon, and equivalent to 4 premium slices of bacon! You can put it on sandwiches, pizza, pastas, bacon, soups, pies, eat it hot or cold (warm Squeez Bacon on toasted rye is to die for), substitute it for bacon in your recipes, or even eat it right out of the tube like we do!

Bacon in a bottle poses a number of challenges for even the most seasoned wine matcher. The combination of fat, smoke and salt is the trifecta of tough mixes. The fat-o-philes among us might go with something like a Barbera d’Alba, with zingy acidity that would clear the palette. Those more focused on the salt may choose a jammy zin or bold syrah/shiraz.  There’s even an argument to be made for Riesling — but then, there’s always an argument to be made for Riesling.

Given that squeezable bacon is apparently an April Fool joke that will live forever on the Internet, I’d personally go with a glass of melted medium cheddar cheese. Sharp cheddar would be just a bit too much.
