The Wine Studio @ 610 Magnolia Does Its Own Version of Tomato Wines

610_logoSmAnd I’m guessing they’re better at it than I am.

Anyway, Friday night (August 14) the Wine Studio is holding a tasting of Italian Wines to be followed by a dinner fresh from the garden. They’re calling it “The Italian Holy Trinity: Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil.” The deal is, the Studio stages a wine tasting first, and then you choose the bottle you want with dinner. The wines to be tasted run the Tuscan gamut from crisp Terenzuola Vermentino, which is a blend of Vermentino and Sauvignon Blanc, to hearty Rosso Caparzo Montalcino, the youthful, Sangiovese-based cousin of better-known Brunello di Montalcino.

The food is going to include Spinach Tagliatelli with Ragu Bolognese and Rigatoni with Heirloom Tomatoes, Pearl Mozzarella and Three Garden Basils, along with a variety of bruschetta and charcuterie.

Wines are also available for carry-out purchase, at retail prices.

The cost of the tasting and meal is $45. The evening kicks off at 7 PM. Reservations can be made by calling (502) 817-7936.
