Mocking Keef is easy, everybody does it. Far more interesting than the all too familiar jokes is his book “Life”. Check it out.

I’ve read it. After I read it I tracked down a bunch of interviews on YouTube. I’m convinced, as you clearly are, that Richards is underappreciated, assumed (falsely) to be the junior partner in the Jagger-Richards collaboration. It has changed the way I listen to the Stones. (I ran across an interview where he said his goal was to get so tight with Ron Wood that they could switch lead/rhythm roles at any moment and no one in the audience could tell who was playing what.)
That said, I still think Depp’s description is funny.
