Perhaps They Should Serve Wine in Congress
Well-intentioned, smart people contemplate the debt ceiling crisis, making a list of different policies and their up- and downsides. After a few glasses of wine, they find the negotiations go more smoothly, the give and take more collegial than painful, and eventually they reach a solution.
We initially found the two lists disturbing, but after a few glasses of wine, we all agreed that when she gets older, Casey Anthony will look like Nancy Pelosi.
We knew they had to be able to agree on something.

The terms “Well-intentioned”, “smart”, and “contemplate” were dead giveaways that you aren’t referring to our representation in DC. Yes, perhaps they should serve wine. If not for the civility it would bring to the proceedings, then for the creativity that is in such short supply.
What particular wine should they serve, though? Why, the 2011 AA Red Blend, of course…
